Our client is looking for a senior control panel builder who is looking for a step up into management to support them with setting up and managing a new professional control building facility in Swansea.

You would be involved in the very early stages of setting up the facility to ensure layout, equipment and panel build area is optimised, but will also take a lead in building the panels themselves.

This is very much a hands-on role and my client are after someone proactive who can get stuck in with the team

The job is based in the wider Swansea area and is a site-based role

**Salary**: Upto £45,000-47,500 per annum plus company car, pension, holidays

Working week: 38 hours per week

**Full job spec**:
My client require the services of an experienced industrial automation/electrical/control panel assembler to oversee the production of all bespoke electrical control and automation panels for a busy control panel assembly facility.

Managing and assisting a team of panel wirers and assemblers you will be responsible for the manufacture of bespoke electrical, control and automation panels for clients in diverse range of industries, including those for the control of equipment in areas containing potentially flammable atmospheres.
- Review and understand control panel specifications and user requirements
- Read and understand electrical schematics and layout drawings.
- Produce Bills of Materials for panels, from which quotations for all components can be sought
- Assist engineers/designers with the production of cost estimates for panel builds
- Assist engineers/designers with control panel layouts and control schematics
- Lead activities that improvement panel quality, reduce production times and cost
- Optimise the panel workshop layout to maximise the efficiency of the shop
- Ensure consignment stock levels of common panel components are managed effectively
- Assist and manage other panel builders in the production of panels.
- Work in line with the company QA documentation
- Produce technical dossiers for every control panel confirming EMC compliance and produce certificates of conformity in accordance with the requirements of UKCA
- Assist engineers/designers at Factory Assessment Testing with clients present
- Ideally apprentice trained electrical/instrumentation/panel assembly
- +2 years' experience in successful management of industrial control panel assembly
- Drive and commitment in pursuit of best practice
- Excellent interpersonal, IT and communication skills
- To be a team player and customer focused
