This is a new post within our small charity. We’re looking for someone who can use their skills to help deliver the charity’s communications strategy. The role aims to engage new supporters and service users with sensitive and engaging content. You’ll raiseawareness of what we do to ensure everyone who needs our help knows how to get it. You’ll engage with our volunteers and support our events across a wide audience.

**Purpose of post**
- Develop and grow the profile of Quetzal
- Encourage wider engagement and support from local residents and organisations, particularly amongst under-represented groups
- Support our commitment to being a great place to volunteer
- Ensure our service users are kept informed and supported whilst waiting to access our services.

**Main Duties**
- Create and publish engaging, audience-focused digital and traditional content including copy, graphics, video and print materials
- Develop our social media presence across all major platforms
- Use insights and analytics to inform social media activity
- Ensure all communications are compliant with Quetzal’s brand and language requirements and do not expose Quetzal to reputational risk
- Undertake activities to engage with service users, seek their views and gain feedback on their experience of our services
- Liaise with operational staff and volunteers to secure case studies/ interviews with service users that can be used to demonstrate the impact of our work

Essential Criteria
- Flexible, adaptable and willing to learn.
- Enthusiastic about the mission and values of Quetzal
- Able to produce a range of high quality, engaging media content in both print and digital.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills with confidence to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work positively with staff, volunteers and service users.

Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a communications role
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, social media, Mailchimp and Canva in a professional or voluntary role
- Experience and knowledge of using CRM systems (we use Lamplight)
- Experience and knowledge of working within a non-profit setting
