Kitchen Porter

**Job Summary**
We are currently seeking two dedicated Kitchen Porters to join our team, initially this will be on a six month fixed term basis with the view to making the roles permanent. The Kitchen Porters will be joining the cafe at an exciting time, a refurbishment including a recently installed new kitchen area means a fresh start for the cafe that raises vital funds for the charity Horses and Ponies Protection Association.

The role involves supporting the chefs ensuring a clean and orderly kitchen environment.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Keeping all Back of House areas clean and tidy
- Washing all pots/pans and equipment to highest standards
- Making sure that cleaning standards are always upheld
- Following health and safety protocol
- Assisting the chef team with basic kitchen preparations
- Putting away deliveries correctly
- Helping Front of House team with glass washing and cutlery polishing
- Any other task deemed reasonable by the duty manager/supervisor
- Respecting the HAPPA brand

**Qualifications and education requirements**

GCSE’s or equivalent

**Preferred skills**
- Good communications skills
- Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality
- Work well under pressure
- Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
- High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
- Good organisational skills to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen
- Willingness to learn and help with various kitchen duties
- Strong teamwork skills to support kitchen staff effectively

Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting desirable but not essential.

Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 9 - 12 per week
