It may be that you are working as a Commissioning Engineer, Pipeworker, Duct worker or similar, and want to put that practical knowledge to use in an office environment, but still being site oriented.

This small friendly design consultancy has extremely high standards of work, and in turn a reputation for excelling in their delivery of design and installations of both mechanical and electrical projects, such as museums, galleries, hotels, commercial businessproperties and high end residential.

This Trainee Building Services Design Engineer position will appeal to someone who can demonstrate a desire to use their knowledge and skills gained on site, to transition to an office environment, where you will be responsible for drafting and calculatingdesigns for services such as water, heating, aircon, lifts etc. producing efficient designs on time, working with project teams to ensure proposals are compliant with standards - BS7671, BS5839, BS5299 and future homes regulations.

You will progress up to Design Engineer, taking responsibility for a project from start to finish, attending meetings, liaising closely with colleagues and contractors, carrying out all designs, calculations, schedules, specifications and drawings withinbudgets and to time, obtaining quotes from providers, conducting site visits ensuring adherence to plan and regulations, coordinate services installation and keeping clients and colleagues aware of each projects progression.

To be successful in this, you will be an excellent communicator, a problem solver, comfortable with responsibility, confident, self motivated and someone who's outlook is very positive, and willing to undertake further learning, which the company will fund,being part of their ethos of ffully supporting everyone who joins them.
