About the role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and their families?
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Young People’s Practitioner to join our **new Circle to Success Support Service**. This role involves working alongside social work teams to provide direct, trauma-informed interventions to young people and their families with emerging complex needs. You will play a crucial role in supporting those at risk of poor outcomes, including those at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation. Your creativity and flexibility will be essential in delivering high-quality support and making a positive impact on the lives of some of our most vulnerable children and young people.
What will you be doing?
As a Young People’s Practitioner, you will manage a caseload of young people and their families, providing structured, proactive, and flexible trauma-informed support.
You will lead and coordinate service provision through direct 1:1 support, whole family approaches, and group work activities.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive needs and risk assessments, developing intervention plans, and working intensively with families in their homes.
You will collaborate with other agencies, provide knowledge and advice to team members, and maintain professional boundaries.
Additionally, you will develop strategies and resources to engage children, families, and communities, and contribute to safety plans addressing both intra-familial and extra-familial harm.
You will also ensure effective record-keeping, participate in case planning and review meetings, and maintain strong working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies.
About you
You hold a Level 3 qualification in working with children, young people, vulnerable adults, and their families, or have substantial professional experience in this area.
You have proven experience in direct work with families facing multiple problems and those who find it difficult to engage with services.
Your knowledge and training in completing assessments and integrated working are essential. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and you can work effectively in challenging situations with children, young people, and their families.
Skilled in mediation, negotiation, and problem-solving, you can assess needs and risks with clarity and sensitivity.
Your organizational and time management skills are strong, and you are able to travel effectively within the locality.
You are committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, and you demonstrate an understanding of equal opportunities and diversity.
