Role Description
We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team at one of our sites in Southall.
Key responsibilities
- To ensure all operations and activities within their remit of control are conducted in a Safe manner and in accordance with site Health & Safety policy and in accordance with the six elements of the site Quality Policy
- Lead, manage and motivate the site teams, coaching and encouraging people to achieve results that meet targets and objectives and support the site's mission (e.g. Right first time)
- Review, challenge and guide as appropriate the daily/weekly plan for the site with planning manager to achieve service levels, hit labour targets and optimise machine Performance. Communicate with customer supply chain teams if needed.
- Review site performance during each shift; ensure effective communications happens between the teams and managers to respond effectively and timely.
- Analyse, review weekly KPI report and develop action plans for team and self to address negative KPI variances and continuously improve performance.
- Take the lead in implementing lean manufacturing initiatives on site and making them a part of the site culture by understanding, supporting and facilitating work standardisation, visual management, Jishuken projects and other aspects of the Kerry productionSystem.
- Motivate coach and develop Shift managers and Team Leaders by regularly reviewing performance, giving feedback, setting individual objectives and supporting performance.
- Represent operations at site management meetings, reporting accurate information, co-operating to resolve problems and driving continuous improvement (including NPD and Engineering)
- Be involved in the budgeting process for the site with regards to operational labour costs. Be involved in development of the site manufacturing strategy
- Take appropriate actions to address shortfall in numbers and /or skills, including developing new job roles if needed, involvement in the recruitment and selection of new staff and managers.
- Co-operate with colleagues cross functionally to consistently carry out the site's policies and procedures (including the protection of company assets and legal requirements) in order to develop and maintain a safe and well-managed site.
- Prepare and organise the site for internal and external audits and customers visits effectively promoting the site, building confidence and long-term relationships
Qualifications and skills
Essential:

- Previous experience with ISOH
- Food Safety minimum level 3
- Previous experience in a management role
- Excellent Leadership and Interpersonal skills
- Efficiency with Microsoft Office
Desirable:

- Lean management skills
- Knowledge of FMCG chilled food environment advantageous
- Material management and supply chain knowledge
