We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable planner to join our planning team as the new Principal Policy Planner. **About the role**
Pay Details: Grade 11 (scp 40-43) £44,624- £47,665per annum
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
Main Place of Work: Dock Office / home working

**Description**:
Leading the Planning Policy team and the preparation of the Local Development Plan.
**About you**
You will need:
- At least 5 years post qualification relevant experience, 2 of which must be at a senior level in the public and/or private sector within the development industry or planning related discipline.
- Previous experience in and knowledge of Planning Policy.
- Experience of presenting evidence verbally and in writing in relation to planning matters (e.g. presentation to committees)
- Experience of complex casework.
- Detailed working knowledge of all aspects of the planning system in Wales.
- Ability to work with Councillors, members of the public as well as public/private organisations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work to agreed deadlines and under pressure.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a large workload and manage the workload of other officers.
- Ability to manage and motivate other professional officers
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
- Relevant post graduate planning qualification.
- Eligible for Membership of the RTPI.
- A commitment to high levels of customer service.
- Ability to manage and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to good quality outcomes from the development control process.
- Ability to deal with people in potentially difficult circumstances.
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
