Policy & Programme Officer - Sport & Youth

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled **Policy & Programme Officer **to lead on specific programmes related to sport and physical activity for positive outcomes for children and young people for our Public Sector client based in London SE1.
The **Policy & Programme Officer** will contribute to policy development that will help to Lead on the strategic development, delivery and monitoring of key projects and programmes within the Sport and Youth team’s remit, ensuring they evolve to support priorities for young Londoners and contribute to the overall impact and outcomes of Sport Unites and the relevant London Recovery Programme missions.
They will manage relationships with key delivery partners to ensure that a diverse range of projects and activities are supported and support the sourcing, selection and appointment of consultants and contractors to carry out relevant work in accordance with relevant public procurement and procedures.
They will support communications on policy issues related to sport and young people to support the missions and prepare responses to project-related questions and correspondence.
- Experience in contributing to policy and / or strategy development.
- A successful track record in using research and analysis to inform policy and strategy development; excellent knowledge of skills and employment policy and delivery.
- Substantial experience of co-ordinating work across a number of stakeholders working in a partnership environment, including public sector agencies, voluntary and community groups, community sport, the youth sector, volunteers and the private sector.
- Experience of project and programme management and reporting, of options appraisal and managing budgets, ideally with experience of managing multiple-project programmes and ensuring they deliver results on target and within budget.
- Good understanding and practical experience of establishing effective monitoring and evaluation processes/systems.
- A successful track record in working with a range of stakeholders, building and managing relationships.
