Finance Banking Control Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Banking Control Officer to join our Finance Team on a 12 month FTC. If you are looking for a new challenge and have a great eye for detail, then come join the team.

**About the Role**

The Banking Control team provide assurance to the business that all transactions across multiple bank accounts are valid and appropriately recorded within the Core systems. This is achieved through having a robust control framework and performing timely reconciliations identifying discrepancies and providing a prompt resolution to mitigate any financial loss to customer and YBS.

As the Control Officer you will be responsible for supporting the team and manager in day-to-day business as usual activities ensuring all process documentation is maintained.

You will also support any Core system changes impacting on the team's activities and working with the broader Finance Operations teams to ensure there is no operational impact as a result of change, participating in robust testing to ensure this achieved.

In this role you will also support the team manager to identify any individual or team training needs in order to enable a smooth transition of change into operations. You will provide SME knowledge and problem-solving skills to assist with resolution of payment incidents and any audit information requests.

In addition, you will contribute to the effective running of the overall Finance Team by ensuring all tasks and activities are completed in accordance with YBS Group policies, procedures, and service levels.

**About you**

Alongside being well organised and having the ability to prioritise your workload efficiently, you will also have:

- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively plan and organise workloads
- Flexible approach to work in order to deal with conflicting priorities
- Good attention to accuracy and detail
- Excellent reconciliation skills
- Good Excel (or similar) skills - whilst not essential advanced skills including Macros and VBA would be beneficial
- Understanding of the various financial services payment scheme and associated rules
- Experience of working collaboratively within a small team environment and working more broadly in cross functional teams
