I’m looking for a Software Development Manager to join a European leader in FinTech within the education sector. Their product suite has revolutionised their domain and has helped more than 20,000 schools effectively manage their data, save administration time,and reduce costs whilst enabling millions of parents to communicate with their school, remaining engaged in their children’s education. Their products help to streamline operations and transform communication between schools, students, and parents.
You will be responsible for the delivery of one of their newest products. You will manage engineers within the software development teams and collaborate with our cross functional leadership team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets bothour customer’s and user’s needs.
You will be responsible for building, developing and inspiring, empowered, agile development teams who are able to take their products and evolve them in a product-led way. Ensuring that they remain market leading solutions which are aligned with the group’svision and product goals. You will have experience of managing software developers and engineering teams and be able to demonstrate a passion for delivering software products that people love to use.
**What you will be doing**:

- Manage the development of our Parental Engagement software products using agile methodologies.
- Manage team members and inspire them to want to do better.
- Look for opportunities for individual development, and continually extend the capabilities of the team.
- Identify gaps in the development teams and work with the Talent Acquisition team to build and recruit.
- Coach and mentor the team to ensure a product-led approach is taken to the development of our Parental Engagement products.
- Promote best in class software development practices and help to foster new ways of working in collaboration with Head of Delivery.
- Ensure the team manage risks in delivery, providing visibility to Head of Delivery and finding ways to mitigate.
- Ensure a focus on timely, high quality delivery.
- Ensure that security, reliability, performance and scalability are embedded in the team’s skill set and development processes.
- Ensure effective tools and technologies are used for product development in collaboration with Head of Tech.

**What experience you will need to apply**:

- Experience managing software development teams working in an agile development environment
- Experience developing SaaS based solutions, ideally in both on premise and cloud hosted environments (Azure or AWS)
- Experience working in a Product-led development environment
- Strong development experience at a senior level in Web and/or Mobile App development
- Knowledge of DevOps - continuous integration, deployment, inspection, monitoring and provisioning
- Understanding and ability to champion secure web development practices e.g. OWASP
- Experience in collection and monitoring of development metrics e.g. DORA
- Able to use data and KPIs to measure the success of deliveries and identify areas for improvement
- Able to manage other managers or team leaders
- Experience of product discovery methods
- Ideally experience in the EdTech industry
