This job involves covering multiple supported living services in South London located in the following areas;
Bromley, Cheam (Sutton), West Norwood, and Denmark Hill
A competitive salary of 50,000 (depending on experience) pro-rata for a part-time role of 24 hours per week spread over 3 days.
Community Living are currently recruiting for an experienced PBS Practitioner to join our team and work within our Supported Living services.
You will be based in our Bromley service at least one day per week, based within West Norwood (to work alongside our Group Clinical Director) once per week/fortnight, with the remainder of the week split across the other services as advised by the Group Clinical Director. Some home working may be required.
Community Living and Balance Care provide supported accommodation to adults with autism and learning disabilities.
In the role as Behaviour Specialist you will have the opportunity to develop your existing PBS skills, whilst also supporting PBS Practitioners and RBTs. Your role will require a high level of resilience as the people we are supporting can display complex behaviours of concern.
**The Opportunity**:
The PBS Practitioner/Behaviour Analyst is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of interventions that will lead to a positive increase in the quality of life of each service user and their stakeholders.
You will need to:
- Have a strong values base and positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- Have a strong drive and dedication to improve the lives of others
- Be willing to travel between multiple sites
- Have excellent communication and soft skills to be able to work with a variety of service managers and staff teams.
- Engage in Continuing Education and supervision based on your level of qualification
- Attend monthly supervisions and meet set goals
- Build rapport with service users and the teams.
- Remain calm and maintain resilience under pressure
- Liaise with other professionals and feedback at MDTs
- Have empathy and compassion towards service users and stakeholders (including family members)
- Run relevant assessments including FBA’s & QoL
- Be confident to run training for teams in Behaviour Analysis/Positive Behaviour Support and associated technologies/interventions
- Be able to support with transitions from other locations/settings. This will involve working at the client’s current location i.e., home or hospital setting
- Write FBA reports and plan function-based interventions based upon the research literature
- Develop high quality Behaviour Support Plans based on Behaviour Analytic principles
- Collect and analyse data - including both quantitative and qualitative
- Be accountable for the effective delivery of interventions and data collection within the service
- Using strategies such as BST, model and be ‘hands on’ in the service.
- Attend regular meetings within the service as well as ad-hoc meetings as requested by Group Clinical Director and Servicer Manger.
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Be competent at supervising others, at observing and delivering constructive feedback and upskilling those working towards RBT/BCBA/Level 5
- Have strong leadership and management skills
- Have strong time-management skills and be able run your diary efficiently and work autonomously
- Be able to support well-being within teams.
- Deputising for the Group Clinical Director when on annual leave
- To be part of the Executive Management Team (EMT) in the support of the businesses
**Qualifications Considered**:
**Essential**:
- Masters Degree in ABA/PBS
- Registered with (or prepared to be) UK-SBA as a full member
**Desirable**:
- Behaviour Analyst - BCBA/UKBA(cert) - with the BACB© and/or UKSBA
- BCaBA with the BACB©
**Experience**:
- Working with adults or young people with autism, learning disabilities difficulties for at least 5 years.
- Working with adults with mental health diagnoses for 2-5 years.
- Working in a PBS Framework
- A background in Psychology
- Working in MDTs and communicating with a variety of stakeholders
- Working across sites/ability to commute/relocate
- Running assessments such as FBAs and designing interventions based on scientific literature
- Writing behaviour support plans and associated reports/documents
- Training teams (face to face and remote)
- Managing complex behaviours of concern
- Leadership and management of teams
- Managing a diary with efficiency and working autonomously
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Collecting, analysing and reporting data with ease
- Supervising others and managing teams
**Job Type**: Part-time
