**About the role**:
The Department of Surgery and Cancer primary objective is the delivery of our research and education mission in an environment where everyone can thrive.

The Division of Surgery aims to improve outcomes for patients undergoing surgical treatment of disease through the transfer of technology into clinical practice. Interdisciplinary research and the bringing together of scientists, clinicians, engineers, designers, and policy makers creates highly innovative solutions directly affecting patient care.

**What you would be doing**:
**Research Support - Pre-Award**:

- Support grant submissions across the Division with the Joint Research Office, ensuring accurate costing, internal approvals, and timely submission.
- Use Worktribe to prepare budgets including eligible direct/indirect costs and optimizing overheads.
- Ensure costings comply with FEC and College/funder policies.
- Monitor and share updates on funder terms and conditions.
- Maintain the FoM tracker to support coordination.

**Research Support - Post-Award**:

- Advise academic staff on managing research budgets in line with funder and College rules.
- Monitor accounts to ensure appropriate, timely spending.
- Work with PIs, finance, and the Joint Research Office on award setup, amendments, and closure.
- Prepare quarterly budget reports and assist with funder reporting.
- Support labour reviews and HR18 processing.

**Financial Administration**:

- Assist with journals, transfers, accruals, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Process staff, student, and external expenses; handle bursary and tuition payments.
- Use ICIS, Excel, and Power BI for reporting and processing.
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring compliance and availability of funds.
- Onboard suppliers with Purchasing and address invoice queries.
- Process payments for subcontractors, freelancers, and casual workers.

**Contracts and Compliance**:

- Prepare consultancy agreements and secure necessary approvals.
- Support contract management and payments with external partners.
- Track contract progress and resolve related issues.

**What we are looking for**:

- Experience in working in academic/medical/research environment is essential.
- Costing re
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
- Desirable if you can add Power Bi and WorkTribe
