To take on the role of graduate Building Surveyor to the Building Consultancy Team across the Midlands.

**Assistant Surveyor - Building Consultancy**
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy department in Birmingham. The team deals with a range of Investor and Occupier clients from large corporates including Barclays and ASDA to Investor Clients incl ASL, Aviva, L&G, M&G and RLAM.

We are looking for an outward-looking, ‘all-rounder’ Building Surveyor with a sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.

**What this job involves**
The workload will vary but generally includes running fit out projects alongside guiding landlords/ tenants through their dilapidations liabilities and working closely with the wider business providing TDD advice to our Investor & Occupier clients.

This includes:

- Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reports
- Undertaking the role of Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent on fit-out and refurbishment contracts
- Preparing & Negotiating schedules of dilapidations/preparing exit strategies
- Assisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
- Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times
- Some travel will be required in this role
- Required to have the ability to work within a team and on own initiative
- Must be enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
- Must have strong verbal and numerical skills, and be comfortable with report writing
- Requires excellent time management and general organisational skills
- Is required to be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure
- Must be well presented and have excellent communication skills
- Working towards MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably in a commercial consultancy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Clean driving licence
