Cordius are working with the leading manufacturer of professional power tools in the UK, based in Telford, Shropshire. Each year, their facility produces around 1.1 million tools. 70% of these tools are exported, 60% to Europe and 10% to the rest of theglobe, with the remaining 30% supporting the company’s UK's domestic customer service.

Due to continued success, a great opportunity is now available to join their Quality team as a Supplier Quality Engineer
- Goods Inward permanently. Your role is to supervise and lead the Goods Inwards section and coordinate the daily inspections, reworks,and containment.

**Role**: Permanent, immediate start available

**Hours**:39 hours per week

**Responsibilities**:

- Create detailed plans to meet business plan and department objectives. Monitor and report progress and ensure problems are identified and resolved without impacting on the target.
- Analyse daily vendor performance data and proactively lead supplier improvement activities to reduce batch rejection and vendor return value in line with business plan or departmental targets.
- Supervise the daily work and output within the section and report the result against agreed targets and KPI’s daily. Ensure an effective inspection, containment and rework function is provided to ensure component quality and prevent production downtime.Ensure all relevant document processes are followed by conducting third step checks and compliance auditing.
- Proactively introduce process improvements to improve component quality and workplace efficiency.
- Raise and review CARs in a timely manner and co-ordinate internal departmental or external supplier meetings to effectively resolve quality problems and issue minutes with defined actions and timeframes.
- Carry out supplier visits to audit the effectiveness and CAR countermeasures. Ensure all quality issues are effectively communicated daily to the Quality Manager.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Have proven experience in a similar quality role
- Have an excellent understanding of engineering drawings and GDT principles with knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2015 and internal auditing; ISO9001, TS16949.
