**Streaming Architect - £800 - £1100 PD - 12 Month Contract - Remote Working - Oil & Gas**
**Overview**:
**Role & Responsibilities**:

- With the supervision of the Principal Solution Architect to ensure ongoing alignment and integration of the complex systems-of-systems architecture:

- Broad-scan for the latest technology and trends relevant to back-end architecture such as event-driven and service-oriented architecture.
- Build a strong understanding of the future product & design direction, and how the streaming and messaging architecture should evolve to support it.
- Lead the definition of event-driven architecture principles and standards.
- Collaborate with the Data Platform and Products teams to ensure the foundational components are built in alignment with the architectural direction.
- Identify technical & tooling enhancements needed to support data engineer and developer productivity, maintainability, quality and/or security aspects.
- Set the workflows for teams that ensure everyone uses the same streaming tooling; having scalability, security, testability, accessibility, maintainability, and robustness as some of their main goals.
- Build and sustain good working relationships with teams and provide technical leadership: Participate in the testing, implementation of and review code changes by other engineers for particularly complex tasks & projects
- Support major decisions, including creating different options and translating the trade-offs between them in the context of business impact and long-term goals.
- Monitor and govern the standards and facilitate performance improvements
**Technical Requirements**:

- Architect data provisioning through stream pipelines leveraging IoT Stack, Service Bus, SignalR, Event Grid, Kafka / Event Hub, Databricks, and other Azure stream and messaging technologies.
- Detailing technology context, container and collaboration designs and concepts with layered Architecture Diagrams (Visio, Draw.io, etc.).
- Azure IoT stack and event-driven architecture.
- Azure DevOps.
