Acorn by Synergie is currently looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Technician for their client, a specialist manufacturer based in Ystrad Mynach.
General role description:
Maintenance Technician working in a discrete manufacturing environment, run and maintain factory equipment and assembly processes, monitor, and check the product quality and document results in strict adherence to protocols.
- Ensure products are produced to defined company standards and free of defects
- Perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments and preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency
- Perform tests on all assemblies and equipment to ensure safety and productivity before hand over to general production
- Identify problems with production equipment, suggest solutions and attempt to troubleshoot using own technical knowledge
- Where necessary report to engineering manager for further action
Duties and responsibilities:

- Setting up and operating different machines, running, and monitoring the output of machine tools
- Monitor performance and output of machine tooling, perform tool changes
- Solid understanding of manufacturing process, troubleshooting at an appropriate level, and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem
- Monitor and check the product quality with responsibility for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and acting to correct it
- Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation to ensure manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations
- Follow engineering processes & procedures, completing documentation
- Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to maximise production efficiency
- Perform tasks assigned to operations as per Standard Operating Procedures
- Fix machine break downs in a fast and safe manner to enable production restarts and minimise downtime
Skills and abilities:

- Time served apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment
- A proven track record of carrying out maintenance engineering within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
