The Transport Eligibility Officer is required to provide support to the Education Passenger Transport team. We are looking for a positive person, with a ‘can-do’ approach who can rise to the pressures within the team, providing a customer focused service, which exceeds their expectations.

Duties will include supporting the assessment of eligibility for home to school transport for children and young people who are residents of Peterborough. You will also contribute to developing and updating policies, protocols and practice therefore knowledge in relation to home to school and college transport is desirable.

The team works at a fast pace to ensure that we can meet the needs of families within agreed timescales, therefore you will need to be highly organised, able to prioritise your workload and work well under pressure.

To be considered for this role, you should have experience of working with parents and carers together with a strong knowledge of IT, excellent communication and listening skills, with a fluency in English and understand the importance of maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. You will need demonstrable technical skills and a proven record of supporting customers through complex processes.

You should also have a desire to provide excellent customer service, be self-motivated, and able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, as consistently meeting deadlines is essential.
