**Location**:Edinburgh Hybrid with a requirement to to be in the office once or twice per week.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Lead Project Actuary to join our _Open Actuarial Reporting and Change team. _

**The role**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead small scale projects or elements of large scale more complex (12 month plus duration) projects to support the business.
- Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Lead, develop, coach and mentor actuarial trainees and analysts as required to maximise their contribution.
- Contribute to the preparation of papers and reports for senior management as required.
- Continually look to enhance processes and procedures to deliver effective solutions for the business.
- Maintaining up to date regulatory, business & professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
- Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.
**What We’re Looking For**
We are looking for a qualified Actuary with varied experience in actuarial reporting and change, or other life actuarial disciplines with a strong track record of delivery in a commercial environment.
Someone who is keen to learn quickly in a changing environment having a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement will fit well with the role.
You will have an ability to build strong relationships and drive action through influence and collaboration across boundaries, combined with experience and ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues and senior stakeholders from different disciplines across the business.
