General Supervisor

**PURPOSE**

The purpose of the role is to assist the General Manager and Deputy Manager in the successful operation of the Company’s Flagship Brewery Tap. To help lead a friendly, hospitable, and high performing team delivering an Amazing Brewery Tap of Quality, which is also Social, Beery & Pubby. To work closely across the Joule’s Team to drive excellent brand standards, embrace branded marketing ideas and initiatives and ultimately build a great business with Joule’s.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1 - Team Management**
- Ensure the team are friendly, hospitable & welcoming and are delivering an Amazing customer experience every time.
- Help the GM and DM train & develop the team to be the best they can be at delivering an Amazing Joule’s Tap experience.
- Lead by example, by being visible and have a hands on approach.
- Ensure excellent front of house service, allocate and support staff throughout the shift as needed to maintain speed of service and cleanliness of venue.
- Support the GM and DM in the monthly team meetings and help ensure great communication, assist with re-training requirements or team confusion and supervise a smooth operation.
- In the absence of the GM and DM, take on management responsibilities for that shift as necessary.

**2 - Brand & Retail Standards**
- Ensure the Tap is the best on the estate at delivering Top Tap standards; it will be the example for all Taps
- Conduct the Tap business to Brand Spec
- Externally - no weeds, no litter, no junk or eyesores
- Internally - clean, tidy and polished throughout
- WCs checked regularly through trading times replenishing cleaning and hygiene products ‘as you go’
- Fix simple maintenance issues immediately and always report to the GM/DM in a well communicated manner

**3 - Trade Building and Promotions**
- Work hand in glove with the GM and DM to help launch promotions, develop initiatives & grow trade
- Implement Rhythm of the Week as per the agreed plan - feeding back ‘ups & downs’ to the GM and DM weekly
- Support when necessary with the effect use of social media to market events, engage & communicate with the local community
- *Trade the Boardroom enthusiastically, to Brand spec using the ‘Book the Boardroom’ standards and agreement
- Work hard to make the Theatre Bar really work for the Company; pre orders, food, pre start, intervals, post show

**4 - Stock, Cash & Property Control**
- Ensure proper use of systems to record transactions accurately
- Assist when needed with counting stock and implementing any requirements when needed
- Secure cash and stock diligently and intelligently
- Continually monitor wastage and identify measures to help reduce food and drink waste
- Secure the site well at night when required and be diligent throughout the day to protect the Company’s asset/s
- Work closely and harmoniously with the GM, DM and Joule’s Commercial Team across all points above

**5 - Food & Drink Quality**
- Implement systems which deliver a high-quality drink offer, particularly clean & efficient cellar procedures & cellar card
- Assist in training the team well in beer quality and serve, including tasters and paddles and the no quibble guarantee
- Assist in training the team when new seasonal's arrive including tastings and explanations of the different characteristics
- Implement systems to deliver a high-quality food offer, particularly professional kitchen & food procedures
- Work with the kitchen team to solve any food quality or consistency issues, ensure all dishes are prepared to spec

**6 - Compliance**
- Health & Safety - implement procedures to ensure the Brewery Tap is a safe place for customers, visitors and team

eg Safety Inductions, Health & Safety Policy, Risk Assessments, Fire Management, Accident & Incident Management
- Comply with legislative requirements including Food Safety & Hygiene, Fire Safety Regulations and Licensing
- Review all legislations and compliances quarter yearly and sign handbooks accordingly

**7 - Brand Reverence & Engagement**
- Be proud to represent Joule’s; communicate the Trade Mark history and with the significance of your Tap on the estate
- Take a keen interest in the ‘sister’ Taphouse in Market Drayton, The Red Lion and help implement synergies between the two flagship Brewery Taps, Heart & Soul
- Alongside the GM and DM, use the Brand Spec Book with respect, aiming to deliver all specs, communicating improvements or problems to the GM
- Actively absorb feedback from the GM and DM from the monthly Heart & Soul meeting and assist with the relevant action plans to progress and develop as needed

**8 - Customer Service**
- Continually monitor, train and develop the team to deliver amazing customer service every day
- Lead by example by engaging with customers and visitors to provide a Quality, Social, Beery and Pubby experience
- Monitor customer complaints & compliments promptly & work with the GM and DM to respond appropriately
- Help co-ordinate the t
