Band 4 Tobacco Dependency Advisor

The post holder will support the delivery of an integrated Tobacco dependency service to maternity patients for Royal Free London. The in-house support service will provide treatment, advice and support to individuals and groups of people who want to stop smoking and improve other general lifestyle behaviours including alcohol and weight management.
Provide maternity patients with CO monitoring, behavioural support and pharmacotherapy to quit smoking.
Act as an ambassador for, and work as a member of the Lifestyle Hub team.
Work closely with maternity team at RFL, aligning work of lifestyle hub with NHS Long Term Plan - tobacco dependency in maternity ambitions.
Act as a smoke free champion promoting the Trust’s smoke free policy and smoke free message through their day to day work. Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service through offering healthy lifestyle advice and support.
Work with people to change their behaviour to improve their health including patients and staff.
Use professional expertise to develop a suitable support plan for pregnant smokers and their families visiting the lifestyle hub, referring to community services as necessary.
Organise and deliver advice and support to ward staff, including reinforcing the training provided to in-patient teams by the Lifestyle Hub Programme Manager to reduce harm from tobacco, alcohol and excess weight.
