We have a exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield. HMP Wakefield is a category A men’s Prison located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Where you will be involved in the delivery and implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on well-being promotion clinics. The site currently offers a 24 hour service and shift patterns for this role are

**Hours**

Shifts run across

Monday to Wednesday - 9.00 to 17.00

Thursday and Friday - 9.00 to 14.00

This position is part time position working 30 hours per week, an you’ll receive an annual salary up to £27,195**_ _**per annum full time equivalent depending on experience.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
