**About Us**
Whitstable Polar Re-start is a new extension to ISP School Teynham which supports CYP with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The centre is designed to bridge the gap in education whilst preparing young people for the transition back to full time education following exclusion or long term absence. Young people are supported to transition onto another school placement if appropriate and when they are ready.
We provide high quality education, adopting a holistic and tailored approach, complemented by a full range of support services, for each and every one of our pupils.

**Role responsibilities**
- Dedicated to mentoring and supporting one pupil or else a small group
- Supporting the Classroom Teacher during lessons
- Reporting on pupil’s progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met
- Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
- Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Setting work where appropriate, and marking
- Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
**Requirements**:
- Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-Level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics and sound IT skills
- Previous experience of working with pupils with SEN-SEMH & ASD across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4 (nurture approach)
- Previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting
- Experienced and confident to be able to lead on a specialism i.e. Reading, Mathematics, Forest School, etc.
- Experience in behaviour management and techniques
- Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
