This post will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 12 months

This is a full-time post.

Key responsibilities
- Recruitment, including liaising with research staff and clinician teams
- Conducting detailed and sensitive research interviews with young people with anorexia, family members and clinicians
- Leading on the analysis of qualitative data to inform our understanding of the decision-making process around taking olanzapine in young people with anorexia
- Supporting with the collection and analysis of qualitative data on other qualitative studies within the QUAHRC
- Attending and contributing to study meetings, including presenting information on research progress
- Writing up and presenting results of projects for academic and non-academic audiences, e.g. peer reviewed journals, reports for stakeholder groups, seminars, conferences
- The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post._

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Essential criteria

1. Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline.

2. Enthusiasm for using qualitative methods that prioritise the lived experience of people with mental health problems and those that support them

3. Experience of recruiting participants to research studies

4. Experience of conducting qualitative interviews

5. Knowledge and skills in analysing qualitative data

6. Experience of writing up qualitative data

7. Ability to use initiative and autonomy in the management of day to day tasks and ongoing workloads, to ensure they are prioritized and completed within agreed timeframes

8. Ability to write high quality peer review publications

Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with people with eating disorders
- Experience of conducting qualitative interviews with people with mental health problems
- Experience of using the Framework Approach
- Skills in using qualitative software (e.g. NVivo)
- Understanding of ethical and research governance requirements for mental health research
