You will be part of a successfully established Wave 1 Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people and to play a key part in a team of people delivering interventions into schools and other settings in the Bletchley area of Milton Keynes.

Milton Keynes Mental Health Support Team is looking for aQualifiedEMHP or CYP WPto join its team who has experience of working with Children and Young People in Mental Health Services in the provision of individual and group treatments. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is passionate about improving health outcomes for children and young people.

You will undertake assessments of children and young people and deliver evidence based low intensity group and individual interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties and their families and carers. You will also provide training and consultation to schools and other agencies about mental health in children and young people and support schools in identifying specific areas of need as part of the whole school approach to mental health.

You will work alongside EMHPs, Mental Health Practitioners and a Senior Clinical Lead to support the wellbeing and mental health needs of 17 Bletchley schools and colleges.

MK MHST works with Young people with mild to moderate mental health presentations attending school in the Bletchley area in Milton Keynes.

- ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence based policies and procedures
- ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with people throughout the care planning process

We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other teams and services to provide seamless care. Band 5 MHP work as part of a team and you will contribute to the success of the team by drawing support from more experienced mental health practitioners and other health professionals but also by supervising other staff and students to ensure they are working to the standards which the people using our services deserve.
