Job title: Funeral Service Team Member - £21,700 plus additional payment for On Call, overtime etc.
**Summary**
To provide support to Funeral Homes providing funeral services from the offices of CPJ Field & Co. To be well presented, with no visible tattoos or piercings, efficient and helpful in all matters concerned with the provision of funeral services and customers, both living and deceased, cared for to the highest standard possible in order that the reputation of the business is maintained at all times.
The post holder is required to work flexibly, in a tight knit team environment. It may be necessary to assist, or cover for, other staff from time to time.

Specific Roles & Duties
- Attendance at funerals, including driving vehicles and bearing coffins on the shoulder
- Removal of the deceased from their place to our premises in a seemly and dignified manner, including performance of first offices
- Well presented, with no visible tattoos or piercings
- Attend sudden deaths on behalf of HM Coroners (when held) from a range of locations and scenarios, which sometimes can be distressing and convey the deceased person to a public or hospital mortuary both day time and out of hours removals which sometimes can be distressing
- Ensure immaculate appearance of all company vehicles at all times
- Checking and maintaining the mortuary register
- Collection and preparation of coffins prior to funerals including fitting out and engraving name plates
- Preparation of the deceased for presentation in the Chapel of Rest
- To prepare graves and plots for ashes interments, including the removal and replacement of memorial tablets
- To maintain office cover on an at need basis
- Willing and able to assist with any other duties which arise on a day to day basis which enhance the service and presentation of the Company
- Keeping all premises of CPJ Field & Co clean and tidy specific areas for attention are; the mortuary areas, preparation rooms, fridge areas, the chapels, the workshops.
- General maintenance to include; basic decorating, changing, light bulbs etc.
- To participate in an on call out of hours rota including sickness and holiday cover.

- Possess the emotional strength and resilience required to work with the deceased in a variety of circumstances whilst maintaining a calm, mature and compassionate disposition for their families and loved one.
- Support the reputation of the business by providing a professional service to clients.
- An understanding that each and every funeral is unique.
- Be of smart appearance with a full driving licence.
