Teaching Assistant

Wilberfoss C of E Primary School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children to join our friendly and dedicated team of Teaching Assistants who play a vital role in supporting and assisting the teaching, learning and care of children within our school.
The working hours are from 08:30am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday during the school term. Your actual salary will be £16,122.80 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. The hourly rate is £12.85 p/h.
There may also be the opportunity to undertake additional midday supervisor hours (2.5 hours per week, ½ an hour per day)
**Key Responsibilities**
The key responsibilities associated with this role involve facilitating the participation and learning of pupils either individually or in small groups, helping to build confidence and self-esteem, including but not limited to:
- clarifying and explaining instructions;
- ensuring pupil's are able to use equipment and materials provided; Including, moving and handling to meet a child’s individual needs.
- assisting in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL
- helping pupils to concentrate on, and finish work set;
- meeting the physical needs of pupils as required whilst encouraging independence;
- liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs
- developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s)

The successful applicant will have good literacy and numeracy skills, a level 2, TA qualification (or willingness to work towards) and the ability to work collaboratively within a team with mínimal supervision.
