The Diagnostics and Pharmacy Group is part of the Northern Care Alliance (NCA), one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. The Royal Oldham Hospital Biochemistry Department provides a comprehensive Biochemistry pathology Service to the hospitals of the Northern Care Alliance and the surrounding Clinical Commissioning Groups.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will receive and prepare samples for analysis, enter relevant data on the laboratory computer system and carry out technical investigations using established protocols and procedures. This work covers a wide range of sample types and investigations to aid the diagnosis and treatment.

**Associate Practitioner: Health Care Science (Band 4)**

The Biochemistry service processes over 10 million tests per annum. The department is well equipped with Abbott Alinity and Architect Ci8200 and Ci16200 analysers, Sarstedt pre and post analytical equipment, TOSOH G11, Sebia Capillarys & Hydrasys protein electrophoresis equipment, HM-JACKarc analyser for FIT testing and IL blood gas analysers. The department is fully computerised with Clinisys LabCentre.
