We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as a Cook. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of all kitchen duties. You’ll order food, menu plan and ensure all health & safety regulations are in place.

Appleton Lodge is a Supported Housing Scheme for adults with a wide range memory problem who need extra support and care to enable them to live as independently as possible. Domiciliary care packages are provided by Human Support Group, with carers on site 24 hours a day.

**Working hours**

You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 10am and 1.15pm and take your turn working weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you

**About you**

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

As our Cook, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all stock is recorded when received and expenditure records are maintained. You’ll plan and prepare all meals taking into account our diverse customer group to ensure all meals suit a variety of dietary needs and cultures.

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you’ve had a job in either a social housing or care setting environment before and have your level two in Food Safety. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group
- When you start your job, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one._

Our manager is Karen who has been with the organisation for over 9 years. There are currently 5 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too

We have the lovely Debbie who is our Housing Management worker and has been with the organisation for over 4 years, Jessica our wonderful Support Co-ordinator, and Anne & Reegan our fabulous Cooks.
