Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Planner the successful applicant will become the primary contact for all transport planning and management from the Warrington site, meeting customer requirements and maximising production in line with Business needs, strategyand targets.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Process transport orders planned by Sales Representatives
- Creation of comprehensive weekly load plan for circa 15 vehicles per day in conjunction with Production and Sales
- Real time tracking of daily load plan to ensure efficient completion in full expediting solutions to delays and altering plan to meet unforeseen conditions
- Liaising directly with 3rd party transport suppliers
- Focus on providing efficiencies within the transport network, in order to maximise profits
- Assist in negotiating rates with transport providers
- Update the SAP system with routes and rates
- Manage invoice reconciliation system and process transport invoices
- Aim to plan loads in the most profitable way, but driving efficiency's
- Manage the relationship with 3rd party transport providers and support with contract negotiation
- Support and promote the correct driver safety behaviours to deliver conditions for a safe working environment on site and at delivery sites
- Champions the use of basic problem-solving tools and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement and suggests ways to improve performance
- Operational administrative duties

**What you'll need to succeed**:

- Good standard of education with further qualifications in Supply Chain/Logistics/ highly regarded
- Solid experience in Transport planning within a manufacturing/production environment
- A demonstrable ability to multi-task responsibilities at any time
- Good understanding and experience of SAP or MRP systems
- IT literate and strong Excel knowledge is essential
- Good communication skills and the ability to develop good cross functional, and collaborative working relationships across operational environments
