You're naturally someone who enjoys a challenge and in your career to date you've accrued strong people, process and change management skills. You'll be able to effectively manage a team of four direct reports in a fast-moving, pressurised environment whilst fostering a sense of calm and resilience.

AQA has led the awarding and standard setting space in the education industry for years so you'll be joining a high-calibre and knowledgeable team. Most recently we've been at the forefront of developing on-screen examinations. We don't need you to be a technical expert here - we need you to coordinate and align multiple business areas to achieve shared goals. Your desire for continuous improvement will link into your recommendations for what AQA needs in the future to maintain our pioneering position in the marketplace.

Bringing enthusiasm and energy, you will have a can-do attitude and understand how to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders in order to get the job done.

We've got ambitious plans at AQA, and as Head of Awarding you will lead on the delivery of setting grade boundaries through the awarding process for all of the qualifications offered by AQA. You will oversee planning activities, determination of priorities, compliance with regulations, and the management of risk, quality, time schedules and costs.

This role sits in the Standards and Awarding team, which is responsible for ensuring that the standards and outcomes of AQA's awards and the technical aspects of AQA's assessment processes are fair, consistent and defensible and that they command public confidence.
