London, United Kingdom Turning Point Full time

**Job Introduction**:
At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues. As a Peer Recovery Worker, you’ll make a real difference to their lives, as you work closely with residents to help them achieve their potential.

At Milestone, we provide a residential service that supports and assists people with a forensic mental health history. Using the 'Recovery' approach, we support them to take an active part in their own care, enabling them to successfully integrate back into the community.

**Role Responsibility**:
As a Peer Recovery Worker, with lived experience, you’ll make a real difference to residents' lives as you improve their daily living skills. By providing a person-centred care, you’ll deliver a range of support through 121 sessions and group work. Ultimately, you’ll play a vital role in helping them to gain skills and coping strategies, all while encouraging positive change and independence. You will be working closely with a team of Recovery Workers and Project Workers, as well as site based specialists, such as a Dual Diagnosis Lead, an Occupational Therapist, and a Resettlement Co-ordinator to ensure residents are provided with the optimum level of support.

The role requires you to work day/late shifts Monday to Sunday throughout the year.

Whilst experience of working with forensic mental health and high risk adults would be beneficial, it isn't essential.

**You are required to have an awareness of the day to day challenges this client group face, as they navigate life outside of the more restrictive hospital or prison settings, and work toward recovery within the context of community-based accommodation.**

What is essential is that you are able to communicate your lived experienced with a compassionate, non-judgmental, person-centered approach. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will be required to complete regular case notes and reports.

You’ll be equally comfortable getting things done on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will have no problems working in a fast-paced environment, with multi agency working, or with working with adapting to challenging situations. And of course, you’ll be the sort of person who enjoys talking to people with different needs and genuinely interested in helping them.

**About us**:
As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.

We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.

**What Benefits Will I Receive?**

We know reward looks different to each person and so whether its ways to make your money go further, a culture supporting recognition and celebration, or opportunities to boost your career - we want to support you in every way we can with our total reward package.

You will get 31 days’ paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 33 days. Plus the option to buy additional holidays and spread the cost.
