**About the Role**

At our Aylesford site we are looking to recruit Forklift Truck drivers in our factory. You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Goods in/Goods Out Manager. You will be responsible for the moving products around the factory, unloading and loading of vehicles and supporting the production team with the movement of board.

Health and safety is a very important aspect within our business and you will be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines.

As a Forklift Truck driver you will be responsible for the daily vehicle checks ensuring that the Forklift is in good working order and report any maintenance issues. While working in the factory it is your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings and adhere to the workplace transport guidelines as set out by the company.

The role requires you to work with a variety personnel within your area of production.

**Hours of work**

You will be required to work 40 hours a week on a double day shift, one week you will work 06.30 to 14.30 and the next week you will work 14.30 to 22.30. You will work on an annualised contract where during our Peak times from August to October, you will be expected to work 48 hours a week Monday to Saturday on the same shift basis and we will then give you these days off during our quiet periods.

**About you**
- Experienced Forklift Driver (Min of 12 months continuous FLT Work)
- Experienced in loading and unloading different types of pallets
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of good health and safety practices
- Proven experience of working towards KPI’s and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills; both written and verbally
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good Understanding off receiving stock and checking paperwork
- The ability to make informed decisions

**Salary**: Up to £24,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
