Nicholas Howard is delighted to be recruiting for the new role of **Legal Secretary** or **Conveyancing Assistant** for our client who is a leading law firm in Newbury. The role is offered on a full time fixed term contract of 12months, available on a hybrid basis requiring the job holder to be in the office 2-3 days a week. Alternativelyit can be offered on a permanent part time basis.
Working within the **Conveyancing department**, you’ll be a key member of the team acting as a key point of contact for clients and third parties involved in legal matters. You’ll work closely with fee-earners to support them with any administrative,secretarial and non-billable tasks as well as working hard to provide exceptional client service.
Job role
- Communicating with clients and third parties on behalf of partners and other fee-earners
- Undertaking general Administrative duties
- SDLT returns and Land Registry
- Managing fee-earner diaries, booking travel arrangements, preparing agendas and minute taking
- Drafting contracts and preparing sales packs
- Coordinating the billing process to be as efficient and effective as possible
- Opening and closing files, and dealing with all matter maintenance
**Requirements**:
- Legal assistant/secretarial experience working within Conveyancing
- A good understanding and knowledge of relevant case management systems
- Brilliant client care skills and good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
A market rate salary together with excellent benefits is offered for this role.
