Permanent vacancy - Transport Co-ordinator / Administrator
Salary - upto £27,500 **(3-6 month contract with a view to going permanent)**
Location - Port Glasgow
Working days - Monday to Friday
**Working hours - Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30am - 2.45pm**
Our client based in Port Glasgow City, are looking for a Transport Co-ordinator / Administrator to join their busy office. We are looking for someone who has previous experience within a logistics/transport background or an experienced co-ordinator. You will be the main point of contact between the internal manufacturing teams, customers, and external logistics partners. Please read below for more information.
**Please not that this is a 3 - 6 months contract with a view to going permanent**
Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with approved transport companies to arrange collection and delivery of customer orders
- Planning schedules and manage weekly deliveries and collections for internal transport
- Generating and completing of required paperwork in relation to customs clearance processes
- Liaising with customers to work flexibly and agree delivery slots to receive their orders.
- Liaising with production on completion dates of customer orders
- Helping shape development of transport plan to create best in industry delivery service to our customers
- Maintaining specifications in system
- Placing customer orders onto internal IT system
- Assisting with general office administration
- Maintaining a high level of customer service and develop relationships.
About the person
- Experience of working in a transport administration/coordinating role
- Experience of organising transport and problem-solving skills along with a keen eye for detail
- Fully PC literate: Windows and MS Office especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Self-motivated individual who can efficiently prioritise needs / demands, where there isn't an obvious solution
- A team player with good relationship and communication skills
