Assistant Head of Year / Pastoral Lead required for a lively Birmingham Alternative Provision. Are you an experienced Pastoral Lead or Assistant Head of Year with experience supporting children on the SEND register with SEMH needs? Do you have a rigorous understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures? This Alternative Provision is looking for an Assistant Head of Year to provide support Across Key Stages 3 & 4, working closely with an experienced team of teaching and support staff. The school is looking for an Assistant Head of Year who has the ability to quickly form trusting relationships with students, manage challenging behaviours effectively and crucially, make a difference.

As an Assistant Head of Year you will be working with the DSL to ensure that all students receive the correct level of support. You will also be responsible for providing safeguarding and trauma-informed care training to staff. This school requires a resilient and proactive Assistant Head of Year who is committed to making sure every student’s needs are met. The leadership team are excellent and meticulous in their care for students and staff and are dedicated to giving every child a second chance. Behaviour can be challenging at times and many children have EHCPs and a dedicated 1:1 TA. This Assistant Head of Year role requires experience working within a similar environment, and experience as a Pastoral Lead, Assistant Head of Year, or Behaviour Lead is Essential.

Job Role:

- Supporting teachers and TA’s in managing challenging behaviour
- Delivering intervention sessions for students with positive outcomes
- Continuously ensuring safeguarding policies are adhered to
- Working with external agencies to provide support for pupils
- Acting as a positive role model and inspiration for students
