**Role Objectives**

The Financial Crime Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing the Financial Crime Framework, designed to ensure our client is compliant with applicable laws and regulations, protected from risk and loss from financial crime.

**Role Responsibilities**

The primary objectives of the Financial Crime Framework are to:

- Minimise the potential and actual incidence of Financial Crime;
- Detect Financial Crime;
- Minimise the risk of subsequent losses;
- Improve the chance and scale of recoveries;
- Reduce the opportunities for Financial Crime in cooperation with other external organisations;
- Maintain internal policies and procedures and ensure effective oversight of Financial Crime operations and controls.
- To ensure the client is compliant with all relevant financial crime regulatory requirements
- To review and assess all high risk suspicious activities/notifications escalated by the 1st line or directly.
- Expedite and undertake the reporting to external enforcement agencies, Action Fraud, CIFAS, National Crime Agency to assist the company in reporting suspicious activity and bring those identified to prosecution

**Skills, Experience & Knowledge**
- Experience and understanding of Financial Services and preferably in the consumer credit and lending sector.
- Knowledge of UK financial crime regulations, risks and appropriate controls
- Experience of leading/managing teams to carry out;
- PEP/Sanctions screening,
- Transaction Monitoring,
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- A relevant, or desire to obtain, a professional qualification for example, ICA Diploma in Anti Money Laundering or equivalent
