An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Camden Occupational Therapy service for Children and Young People.

The Special school OT service for CYP offers a high-quality school-based service to learners attending Swiss Cottage school. This highly rewarding position requires the post holder to demonstrate a high standard of understanding and implementation of evidence-based practice in complex cases, leadership vision, management experience, and ability to work collaboratively with wider networks. The post holder will have overall responsibility leading this highly specialist service of all the preschool, primary and secondary aged children and young people with severe and complex needs. The post holder will also provide support and mentorship to the OT staff that work with complex autism cases. This post has 2 main responsibilities - one to lead the OT team in this large special school and secondly to be the clinical expert for ASD in the OT team both in Swiss Cottage school but also advising mainstream school therapists and staff when needed. Camden is part of the wider NCL partnership, and the post holder will play a dynamic role in shaping the next steps of the NCL projects as part of the wider team of OT Leaders and within the RFL policy and long-term plan. The post holder will lead a motivated and enthusiastic team and engender a culture which values excellent support networks, CPD, service development and quality improvement.
- The post holder will lead the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team.
- The post holder will act as a source of expertise on assessment and intervention.
- Providing a specialist clinical service for CYP with ASD in Swiss cottage school
- Providing autism assessments within the Social communication Assessment Service (SCAS) in Camden.
- Working with the school and Camden SEN on the OT management of EHCPs.
- This is a permanent post that offers an opportunity for further development of the post holder's Leadership skills.
