Zachary Daniels Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experience Buying Manager to join a multi-fascia, branded and own brand outdoor retailer.

As Buying Manager you must have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar buying role, preferably with an outdoor multiple or significant high street retailer of branded product (or equivalent), with financial and departmental responsibility. Yourproduct experience can span outdoor living or apparel or at the very least have a genuien interest in the sector and a passion for the outdoors.

You will have some experience of managing individuals, and a hunger to learn and widen leadership role. Highly numerate and have experience of strategic planning. Experience of far easteern sourcing is also key and you will confident in negotiating and buildingsupplier relationships to impact product quality and profit delivery.

As Buying Manager for outdoors your role will be accountable for:

- Develop Divisional Plans in-line with Commercial and Group Strategy
- Engage and influence relevant stakeholders and support your Buyers to deliver the divisional strategy
- Undertake seasonal reviews of overall category performance and work with Buyers and Merchandisers to understand key learnings
- Sign off all ranges with team before presentation to Exec, and ensure they are planned accurately in-line with Commercial KPI's
- Work cross divisionally to ensure all opportunities are exploited and executed in timely and accurate fashion
- Understand Exclusive Brand strategy for each area and ensure this meets commercial requiements of business
- Ensure Buyer's ranges are relevant to Customer and store demographic as well as meeting with Commercial KPIs
- Attend regular Supplier review meetings ensuring delivery of agreement and/or amend where necessary
- Sign off category, store and brand assortments in line with agreed plan
- Where appropriate negotiate with key suppliers in line with overall business strategy, as well as supporting Buyers
- Review weekly trading performance of Division against KPI's - manage risks and maximise opportunities (with merchandiser)
- Attend weekly trading meetings with category overview and short/medium term action plan where relevant
- Oversee a monthly meeting reviewing my division resulting in top level overview and driving actions/range planning
- Drive trading activity to achieve planned sales and profit
