GSL Education Newcastle are currently recruiting for **cover supervisors** to work in some great secondary schools in the Newcastle city area. **Cover supervisor** positions offer flexible work and competitive rates of pay, without the workload of planning and marking lessons, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, teaching assistants wanting the "next-step" or ECT's who want to gain further classroom exposure. Or maybe you are a teacher who wants a role with less planning, marking, and the huge commitment required with full-time or permanent teaching. **What the role will involve**: - A really fast paced and varied working day - Supervising classes of up to 30 pupils - can be any age group from Y7-13 - You don't need to be a specialist as work will always be left, you just need to be confident, keeping learners on task, engaged and behaving well. - Primary objective is to maintain control of the classroom and keep the learners working, completing the work left by their class teacher **What we require** - Graduates in any discipline who wants to gain experience before training to teach - Teaching assistants or current cover supervisors - ECT's who want secondary classroom experience - HLTA's - A great attitude, able to build rapport quickly - Strong classroom presence - A fully checkable work history - Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service._ Interviews and trials are taking place right now for this exciting opportunity, with a view to commencing the role ASAP. In addition to that, GSL Education are currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants.
