Trusted partners to some of the globe's leading food brands, we are dedicated to transforming ideas and creativity into tangible, delectable solutions. **About the role** Reporting into the Warehouse Manager and supervised by the Team Leader the Decant Operative will assist in the manufacture of food products to the established standards of safety, output, quality and hygiene. As a key part of our operation, you will work across various areas of the plant, assisting in the manufacture of food products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and hygiene. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to achieving production targets efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include transferring and packaging products accurately, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety while working efficiently to meet production targets Ensuring that the working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in line with laid down cleaning schedules and the Company’s “clean as you go” policy, managing the personal and business requirements of this policy to ensure Audit ready standards at all times. **Working shift pattern's are rotational and a mix of early and late's on a weekly basis.** **Responsibilities** **Health & Safety** - Work safely at all times in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, practices, and legislation. - Identify and report any discrepancies in materials, machinery, or final products to the Team Leader. - Ensure all food safety, legality, and quality requirements are consistently met. **Hygiene & Sanitation**: - Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards, following cleaning schedules and implementing the factory’s "clean as you go" policy. - Carry out cleaning schedules in the production and packaging area ensuring a very high standard of hygiene/sanitation is achieved, in addition to placing emphasis on the Factory’s “clean as you go” policy, being always audit-ready. **Production & Packaging**: - Assist in the decanting of raw materials and finished products according to specifications. - Operate equipment to store, feed, mix, blend, extrude, and package food products while maintaining high standards of manufacturing practice. - Conduct inspection, packing, and metal detection processes, ensuring product quality and compliance with weight control standards. - Palletize, wrap, and label goods as required. **Documentation & Compliance**: - Accurately complete all relevant process and food safety documentation. - Carry out any additional duties as assigned by Production Management. **Team Support & Flexibility**: - Provide support in other departments when required, including during holiday and absence cover. **Other Duties** - To carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager / Team Leader **Requirements**: **Experience & Qualifications**: - FMCG experience preferred - Forklift certificates preferred - Past experience working at busy production/delivery environment, is an added advantage. - Strong communication and listening skills - both in written and verbal formats - Confident in use of computerised systems **Skills & Knowledge**: - Good attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst achieving targets - Energetic with a sense of urgency - Strong team player who adopts continuous improvement approach. - Promotes safe working practices. - Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative. - Committed to continuous improvement and safe working practices. - Knowledge of health & safety standard and compliance **Benefits** **Indulge in the Sweet Perks of Joining Macphie** At Macphie, we believe in crafting not only delightful culinary experiences but also providing our team with a recipe for success in their professional lives.
