Health and Wellbeing Coach

**Permanent - Full Time**

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our innovative Project as a community-based Health and Wellbeing Coach. You will provide individual health related support to customers with customers with complex needs, substance misuse, poor mental health and repeat homelessness to settle, livewell and realise their potential.

Indigo is a relatively new Project in collaboration with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to end the cycle of homelessness. Customers living in temporary accommodation face and part of your role will be to advocate and challenge systems that are not working for our customers.
- Salary: 4B/C £29,058 - £31,133 per annum, pro rata
- Working hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday (including occasional evenings and weekends work with residents where identified)

**More about the role**:
The Indigo Project supports customers who in live in dispersed areas across Rotherham and your role is to support them in the community to maintain their home. You will be mainly agile working in the community, with some travel to the head office in the centre of Sheffield.

**The main duties of this role are**:

- The primary focus is to support individuals to address problematic substance misuse and engage local services
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and local agencies to achieve the best outcomes for customers
- Awareness of risk management
- Lead on training and peer supervision around substance misuse

**Who you are**:
The Health and Wellbeing Coach will be a person-centred case worker, leading on action planning and working with customers to build on skills and assets that can support their journey to live independently. With experience and a qualification in Counselling (or other psychology related qualification), substance misuse, Occupational Therapy or Allied Health Professional Qualification at Degree level which would meet the requirements for relevant accreditation e.g. BACP, NMC, HCPC

- Have an ability to motivate and engage customers
- Ability to adopt a strength-based coaching/motivational interviewing approach to support customers
- Ability to work to an outcome- based model whilst evidencing improving people’s health and well-being
- Ability to adjust approach and manage difficult situations
- Ability to work on your own initiative and organise own workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and work as part of a multidisciplinary team and understand partnership working

- Ability to use a wide range of IT packages such as Microsoft Office including Office 365; and experience of using case management databases
