- This role has a specific focus on working with blue light services to improve the response people with complex emotional needs receive when they present in times of crisis.
- There will be additional research opportunities as the post in located within a vibrant and creative team working systemically to produce cultural change. We are fully coproduced and keep lived experience expertise at the heart of everything we do.

The Assistant Psychologist role will be an essential component of the Multi-Disciplinary Team working under the supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to devise and deliver psychological interventions to groups and individuals using and delivering services across all tiers of care.

The service is not limited to people with a personality disorder diagnosis although it is aimed at supporting people who are likely to have difficulties coping with overwhelming emotions, low self esteem and self-destructive urges.

Our service aim is to create easier access to good quality support that can be stepped up or down in response to need. Much of our work will be in guiding and supporting all agencies that support people with complex emotional needs to feel confident and able to work in an evidenced based way.

As a clinical team we will spend some time working systemically with individuals identified as having high risks and significant levels of distress. We will also support colleagues in primary and secondary care in an advisory capacity.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

A valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential. For qualifying staff the Trust has a Lease Car Scheme in place and also offers a popular Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme with our partner Tusker.
