Financial Controller

Orka Financial is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller maternity cover for a Private-Equity owned business in Maidenhead. Contract length is 12 to 18 months and the contract can start between now and July. Previous experience of working for aPE owned business is essential.
**Responsibilities**
1. Responsible for all financial operations, including reporting, forecasting, invoicing, accounts payable/ receivable, some cash management, stock control, fixed asset register and payroll.
2. To lead the monthly accounting close ensuring timeliness, accuracy and completeness.
3. Tax compliance including VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax.
4. Management and development of a team.
5. Preparation of forecasts and budgets.
6. Margin, profitability, cost variance analysis, leading to margin improvement and cost saving initiatives
7. Completion of royalty returns.
8. Develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances.
9. Act as main point of contact to external auditors and provide all information.
10. Recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance and financial controls.
11. Consolidation of monthly board reports.
This role will suit someone with a strong private equity background, who is hands-on in the day to day running of the finance department and able to lead and manage a team from the front. This role will be in the office 2 to 3 days per week, parking is available.
