**Dog Handler/Van Driver**

**Company Description**

At the Fairy Tails Doggy school, we offer K9 socialisation, fun plays, enrichment activities along with learning and development for one of the most important members of our family - Doggies.

This is a multi-skilled role in which you will be doing the following:
1. _Dog Handling_ - Handle and care for the dogs in our doggy daycare school. This will include interacting and handling dogs safely, feeding the dogs at lunch time, keeping the workplace clean and hygienic (disease prevention) and helping to assist co-workers with any daily tasks.

2. _Van Driving_ - Collecting and dropping dogs home in our doggy school bus. This will include in Hastings/St Leonards and surrounding areas (Battle and Rye) during your shift. Each van route will be no longer than 2 hours of driving time.

3. _Dog Walking _- Taking our daycare dogs out in the local area for on lead walks and enrichment.

**Working Hours**

This is a **30 hours per week** position. You must be able to work **any day from Monday to Friday 07:30 - 13:30.**

**JOB CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (please read)**

All required training and support will be provided to you.

You will be animal welfare orientated, have a friendly personality and smart appearance, and the desire to deliver first-class customer service.

Working with dogs is labour intensive and will require physically demanding tasks.

We expect our staff to be hardworking, high level of work ethic, trustworthy and have great communication skills.

**You MUST have
- A valid UK Driving License
- (3 years minimum driving experience is required).**

**You MUST live locally (within Hastings).**

You must be willing to learn how to drive a large transit van, small transit van and car for transportation of dogs. You also must be willing to drive these.

You must have a right to work in UK and a clean criminal history.

Training and Company uniforms will be provided.

Before submitting your interest in this job, please ensure you are willing to do manual handling and labour intensive work as well as **provide evidence of a clean driving license that is a driving license with no penalty points.**

In return, we will provide all the support we know you need to do your work on time and stress-free. You will also be able to go on fully-funded dog training or behaviour courses after completing your probationary period. 28 days of paid annual leave.
