**Brighton College is seeking to appoint a PA to the Deputy Head (Academic), to start as soon as possible. **The role will be a term-time (35 weeks - plus a number of additional weeks, to be agreed during the interview) full-time, permanent position and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £21,500 - £23,500 per annum, depending on the number of agreed working weeks.

**The PA to the Deputy Head Role**:
This responsible and confidential position provides administrative and secretarial support for the Deputy Head (Academic). Flexibility and initiative are key. The duties listed below should not be regarded as definitive.

**Key responsibilities: **
- PA and secretarial support for the Deputy Head (Academic). Diary organisation. Meeting and looking after parents and other visitors, including booking rooms and refreshments. Arranging pupil and staff interviews, meetings and governor visits. Assisting with the collation of information and preparation for inspection. Maintaining and managing budget records. Minute taking for a wide variety of meetings, some of which may start at 5pm (time in lieu will be given). Making travel arrangements. Maintaining the Academic Calendar. Sending curriculum option letters, GCSE and A-level confirmation letters. Assisting with co-ordination of presentation assemblies. Easter Revision and Parents’ Evenings administration.
**Key skills you'll need as our PA to the Deputy Head**:

- Excellent communicator and team player. Dynamic and pro-active approach. Ability to work under pressure and take initiative. Ability to deal with people in a fair, friendly and consistent manner. Self-disciplined and with excellent time management skills to work to deadlines. Excellent English with a sharp eye for detail. Respect for the confidential nature of some aspects of your work. Ability to maintain an overview of complex systems.
**Technical skills**:

- Strong working knowledge of Word, including an ability to format/re-format (essential). Knowledge of the basic functions of Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Power Point (desirable) and Publisher (desirable). Training on iSAMS will be provided. Previous experience of working with mail merges.

**Hours of work**:

- The role is offered on the basis of term-time (35 weeks) with an additional number of weeks to be discussed at interview. The preferred hours of work are 8.00am - 5.00pm, with a 60-minute lunch break, however there is scope for flexibility.
- Some occasional Saturdays will be required as part of the above additional days.
- 20 days pro rata, in addition to bank holidays.
- Annual leave should be taken during the school holidays.
