**Lead Software Engineer - Up to £80,000 (DOE) - Hybrid Working (Maidenhead or Hockerill)**

There is an exciting opportunity to join amarket-leading IOT connectivity solutions company based in either Maidenhead or Hockerill (N.London) in a hybrid working format. This role has become available through the expansion of their in-house software engineeringdepartment. They are in search of an experienced engineer to head up a sub-department, having full flexibility and autonomy on the directional strategy of the department. This will be a hands-on role and will require the individual to have full oversight ofpeer management.

**The Role: Overview**

My client has tasked us here at Explore to source them a high caliber, driven individual to head up the software engineering department. This should appeal to the experienced engineer wanting to make a move to a senior position in a busy and vibrant environmentwho also possesses the key knowledge of a variety of languages and frameworks.

**Salary & Incentives**
- Salary of up to £80,000 PA for the right individual

- 25 Days paid holiday

**Responsibilities**
- Guide the software engineering organisation toward effective business outcome delivery.
- Collaborate with the product management leadership to plan, coordinate, and/or carry out plans for products.
- Directing a group of software engineers to carry out all required responsibilities
- Participating in code reviews and working in an agile development tea
- Capable of guiding young devs
- Participate in conversations about architecture and code review that affect our
- Ensuring that team members and outside parties exchange effective technical information
- Collaboration with engineering leads and other teams

**Requirements**:

- Thorough working knowledge of - Docker, Kubernetes, Java and/or Node JS, SOLID design principles, Python/Flask, and experience with Event-Driven Microservices
- You are an advocate of clear, well-tested code and have experience developing automated tests.
- You have technical leadership experience and are willing to mentor and assume project ownership. being familiar with agile principles like Scrum Leading, guiding, and inspiring the software engineering team
