As a member of our Centre of Excellence for Product Vigilance, you will play a part in supporting our commitment to product safety across the entire product lifecycle - from development through to end use. Our team’s core focus is on post-market safety surveillance, adverse event management, signal detection and management of a global safety, pharma grade database. We also play a vital role in sharing insights across the business to support the continuous improvement of our products There is so much variety in this department, therefore you will have plenty to get involved with and plenty of scope. We want you to be empowered and have the chance to lead and make decisions. Consider your key stakeholders will be: our Global Medical Safety Officer, the PV Team, Quality, Product Development, Legal, our Call Centre Teams and other Safety focused departments. Not forgetting multiple external vendors. You'll also gain valuable exposure to the regulatory landscape in product safety." **A bit more about BAT and our undergraduate placement scheme**: In the UK, we offer 12-months placement opportunities (starting on 1st September 2026) to undergraduate students looking to gain practical experience within a vibrant and innovative industrial setting. As part of the scheme, you will be partnered with a mentor, have regular reviews with your Line Manager and work on projects that impact the business. BAT has an established placement programme, with a dedicated Placement Team, which provides training and development throughout the placement. This includes sessions for onboarding, presentation skills, critical thinking, scientific poster presentations and ‘speed networking’ with senior management. Successful applicants are provided with multiple opportunities to develop transferable skills in addition to gaining ‘hands on’ experience in a technical discipline. As part of the scheme students get a chance to cultivate their independent thinking and problem-solving skills in addition to working in and contributing to a team. Cross functional/department working and participation in other research activities is also encouraged, where appropriate.
