**Volunteer Schools Speaker - Leicester & Leicestershire**

**Are you a confident public speaker and able to engage young people? Do you live in the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire area?**

The Youth Development Team is responsible for delivering a number of schemes to engage children and young people with the work of The Air Ambulance Service and meet objectives of income generation and public awareness. The team are responsible for developing new, and building on existing, relationships with schools and other education focussed organisations as well as the delivery and the recruitment of new members to our children’s club, #TheCrew.

We are looking for confident speakers, to attend schools and/or groups to deliver engaging talks to raise awareness of our charity and inspire schools to support us. Our school assemblies are currently focused in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire however we would also like to hear from people outside of these areas who may be willing to travel.

In this role you may get involved in:

- Visiting schools to talk to children about the work of The Air ambulance Service
- Talk about ways schools can fundraise to support our vital work
- Build connections locally with schools and groups to arrange further talks and expand our reach.

This role is flexible however most talks will take place during school hours. Talks usually take around 20 minutes and full training will be given and equipment provided. We are ideally looking for volunteers who are able to commit to regular engagement with us by delivering x4 assemblies per month but any commitment would be welcome.

Previous experience of presenting would be great but as long as you are confident speaking in front of a group then don’t worry, you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need.

Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.

**Youth Development team Information**

We are looking for volunteers to join us in our Youth Development team to support in all areas including: supporting at events, being our crew mascot, Schools speaker and office volunteer.

We will give you a full induction to all aspects of your role and you will have ongoing support from the team. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills to build your CV and gain invaluable experience working for a leading charity.

Volunteering is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week/ month or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions
