Our client is seeking an Environmental Investigator to join their team at a leading environmental company committed to preserving and enriching water quality in the Cornwall and Devon region. Specialising in delivering holistic solutions to environmental issues, they prioritise sustainable practices to safeguard natural resources for the benefit of future generations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct on-site inspections and sampling of water sources to assess quality and detect any potential contaminants.
- Analyse data collected from field investigations and laboratory tests to identify sources of pollution and assess environmental risks.
- Investigate pollution incidents and respond promptly to mitigate environmental damage and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and community members to address water quality concerns and implement corrective measures.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, recommendations, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide expert testimony and support in legal proceedings, as needed.
- Stay informed about emerging environmental issues, technologies, and regulatory developments related to the water industry.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, hydrology, chemistry, or time served experience.
- Experience in environmental investigations, preferably within the water industry.
- Strong knowledge of water quality standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in investigating pollution incidents and responding to environmental emergencies.
- Proficiency in conducting fieldwork, collecting samples, and using analytical instruments.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various locations within the Cornwall and Devon area.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
