**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Support and mentor learners in the training environment (on or off-site) to meet the requirements of our education programmes and as directed by the tutor and programme coordinator
- Collaborate with the tutor to identify the additional support and intervention activities required, tailoring activities and materials, to enable learners to succeed and achieve
- Work with individuals who require targeted support to complete all tasks and activities, supporting learners to develop their knowledge, skills and experience and grow in confidence and independence
- Identifying barriers to learning and devise and develop a range of appropriate strategies to assist learners in resolving issues or tackling concerns
- Support tutor with learner portfolios, leading where reasonably required on conducting assessments, providing feedback to learners, conducting progress reviews, record-keeping and the provision of programme administration and study support
- Work as part of the team to devise creative approaches to overcoming barriers, engaging learners, developing the content and delivery of sessions, and assisting with the promotion and success of our education programmes
- Supporting learners in developing their self-esteem and confidence
- providing pastoral support and effective impartial information, advice and guidance toward achievement and progression
- Support learners to achieve to their potential, including support to achieve learning objectives, completing portfolios, and readiness for assessments and personal development goals
- Being aware of confidential issues linked to learner/home and personal situations and to adhere to Safeguarding and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures
- Ensure that project manager and tutor are kept fully informed of learner progress, and support liaison with learners, parents and relevant stakeholders, agencies etc as appropriate, reporting where required
- Assist in the arrangement of and supervision of work experience placements, support for positive progression and the planning and delivery of enrichment activities so that all aspects of the course requirements are fulfilled
- Provide specific support to individual learners with special needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan requirement, as agreed with you, supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of learners in line with company policy and person-centred plans
- To encourage the individual to be actively involved with their learning, positive progression and to reflect their performance on reviews as directed by tutor
- Act as the key worker for identified learners, championing their engagement, attendance, progress and achievement
- Monitor and support the health, wellbeing and welfare of learners under your supervision, including in respect of safeguarding and any adherence to specified routines or requirement, such as meeting the requirements within an EHCP
- Provide flexible support to the wider business as reasonably required, fulfilling occasional alternative duties as requested, so that expertise is deployed to meet business priorities at a level consistent with those outlined in this job description

- To contribute actively to team and departmental meetings as required
- To promote the charity in a positive and professional manner, acting as an ambassador for the charity
- To provide management information, professional intelligence and other support to organisational staff and the Charity CEO as required
- Post holder may be required from time to time to undertake other duties, not specifically mentioned in this job description, but within levels of their salary scale
Contract Type: Zero Hours
- As and when required
**Salary**: £15 - £20 per hour (depending on experience)

As this role involves regular work with children and young people, and meets the definition of regulated activity, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 you must disclose all unprotected unspent and spent cautions and convictions. Further details on what convictions must be declared can be found in the Governments Guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975.
